Memberships are based on a calendar year membership term, which runs from January 1 - December 31 each year.

Charter Member

Charter membership is by invitation only and is subject to a due diligence process. Charter members are senior professionals and successful business executives who meet certain specific criteria. They are committed to social responsibility, mentorship, professional development and advocacy by South Asian Professionals.  These individuals are at a stage where they are ready, willing and able to contribute to fellow members in a mentorship capacity.

  • Deriving satisfaction from mentoring young professionals and students.  Meeting special guest speakers at Charter Member only events.  Media exposure potential as a Charter Member of ASAPBC.  Complimentary access at most ASAPBC events.  Opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors, Executive and related Committees of ASAPBC

Charter Membership Criteria
  • Highest moral and ethical standards
  • Demonstrated success
  • Time and desire to engage in activities exhibiting social responsibility.  Not promoting a religious or political platform to other members.  Not required to be of South Asian origin.  Must be nominated by two (2) current charter members.  Payment and receipt of annual charter membership fee.

Application Process
E-mail to any current charter member (addresses on website) with relevant personal data - e.g. CV.  Candidate information presented by nominating member at monthly ASAPBC Board meeting.  All incoming charter members require unanimous approval by the ASAPBC Board.  Incoming member notified and membership fees due and payable immediately upon approval.  Charter membership is $1,000 per year.  This fee is not a charitable donation but may be considered a business expense.

Regular Membership

ASAPBC is open to all individuals with an interest in social responsibility, mentorship and networking by South Asian Professionals. The general body of ASAPBC members represents diverse professional and business backgrounds ranging from law, engineering, education, sales, marketing, finance, medicine, accounting, media, technology, business and others.  Membership is $100 per year. This fee is not a charitable contribution, but may be considered a business expense.

Benefits of Membership
An opportunity to network with other professionals and business people.  Establishing connections that lead to possible opportunities.  Access to mentorship in order to grow individually and as a professional.  Lower cost for some ASAPBC events.  Access to member’s only events.  Provide a route through other members to establish professional and business relationships globally.  Facilitate connections to other professional and business organizations.

Application Process
Complete the membership form and submit the annual membership fee of $100 here. Candidate information presented at monthly ASAPBC Board meeting for approval.

Student Membership

The ASAPBC student membership program is geared to promote the early interaction of students with the mainstream professional and business community.

The annual membership for full-time students is $20. This offer is only valid for students registered full-time with an accredited university or college in Canada who can present a valid student ID from that institution at the time of registration with ASAPBC. Click here to register.
